While people who’ve been convicted of a crime aren’t eligible to have their records sealed or expunged, those who’ve received a dismissal, a deferred adjucation, or a deferred prosecution may qualify.

If you’ve had a criminal case against you dismissed, or if you’ve gone to trial and received a not guilty verdict, you might assume that your criminal record is clear. It’s a reasonable assumption, but in Texas, just because you’ve never been convicted of a crime doesn’t mean you haven’t got a criminal record.
